Avineon Promotes Xiaodong Hong to Lead Technical Solutions Group

Newly formed geospatial segment will focus on delivery of specialized services

Alexandria, Va. – Sept. 19, 2006 – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, today announced the promotion of Xiaodong Hong to director of Avineon’s Technical Solutions Group (TSG). In this role, Hong will be responsible for managing TSG projects and personnel and delivering highly specialized geographic information systems (GIS) consulting and application development services to a diverse client base. TSG is a new segment of Avineon’s Geospatial and Engineering Services division created to better focus geospatial services the company has provided for several years.

Hong has excelled in a project management and consulting capacity at Avineon for more than six years, lending his extensive IT and GIS experience to numerous large-scale projects. He most recently served as a senior project manager overseeing projects with Potomac Electric Power Company, New York City Department of Finance, Energy East and Reliant Energy among others. In addition to his technical qualifications, Hong is also fully certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institution (PMI). As the primary resource for TSG clients, his knowledge and management ability will provide innovative, hands-on support for project goals and enhance TSG service offerings.

TSG offers GIS implementation planning/consulting, Web-based mapping application development, GIS desktop application development, GIS training and GIS/information systems integration services. Avineon has developed GIS applications for several years and the market for this business line continues to grow. With the creation of TSG, the company will focus on providing technical solutions and services for its customers to assist commercial and government organizations in realizing the value of their GIS investments.

Throughout his career, Hong has been invited to speak at industry conferences and events. He earned a Master of Arts in Geography/GIS and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from The Ohio State University. Hong also holds a Bachelor of Science in City Planning and Urban Design from South China University of Technology in Guangzhou.
