InfoTech awarded GIS Data Migration contract by Central Maine Power

Alexandria, VA (October 18, 2001): InfoTech Enterprises, Inc., announced today that it has been awarded a GIS Data Migration contract by Central Maine Power Company (CMP).

InfoTech will support CMP in migrating existing ArcView Shape files of radial distribution circuits and devices from a preliminary conversion state to a final connectivity, database, and cartographic state. The work consists of reviewing and adjusting the circuit and device shape file layers to provide circuit connectivity, feature attribution, and cartographic quality in conformance with CMP’s detailed specifications. The scope of work includes nine service areas containing approximately 340 circuits, approximately 534,000 poles, and 1,873 drawings.

Karlu Rambhala, InfoTech President and CEO, said, InfoTech accepted the challenges of meeting CMP’s 90 day schedule and quality requirements. We understand the importance of meeting CMP’s objectives and have put the required resources in place to complete the project on time.

Central Maine Power, an operating unit of Energy East Corporation (a super-regional energy and services company in the Northeast) delivers electricity to approximately 550,000 customers in 344 communities throughout central and southern Maine. CMP’s 11,000 square mile service area contains more than 70% of Maine’s population.
